The Wild West Coast of Tasmania does enjoy a healthy rainfall; however, with so much going on at Strahan Village, we hardly notice it! Rain or shine, the stunning scenery and pristine wilderness of Strahan makes it truly unique.

Who do we employ?: First of all, if you haven’t worked in hospitality before – don’t worry! We employ people from all backgrounds and with all manner of skills and experience. Perhaps you’re looking for casual work while travelling or during a break in your studies. Maybe you want to build a career in hospitality or tourism and are keen to try a unique destination to do this. Or you may even want to try something completely different – either way the chances are we have what you’re after!

The majority of our positions are in Food & Beverage, Housekeeping, Front Office/Retail, Chef/Cook, Kitchen, and Guides. We’re always interested to hear from people who are interested in working at Strahan so if you want to work with us but don't believe you fit into one of the categories listed above, let us know!

Above all we are interested in those who possess a keen enthusiasm for service delivery, and enjoy customer-facing roles.
When do we employ?: All of our tourism properties operate year-round so if you are looking to develop or continue your career in hospitality/tourism, we may very well have the opportunity you're after.

Our peak season typically runs from October through to Easter, however winter doesn't mean we aren’t kept busy! So if you are looking for a short-term employment option while you are studying, travelling, or just for something different the odds are we can offer it.

Working with us: All employees at Strahan are eligible for a range of benefits including discounted accommodation rates across Tasmania. We also provide uniforms.

We offer a variety of different accommodation options on the West Coast, including larger properties suitable for families.

Most employees of at Strahan are covered by The Hospitality Industry – Accommodation, Hotels, Resorts and Gaming Award 1998. Employees on the West Coast Wilderness Railway are employed under a separate Award.
